The Eayor of the City of @R¥M bas been asked to forn & comnittee to be krovm as the*“American Friends Service _Committee", and apparently, so far as we are able +o wuiderstand, it is for the promotion of tolerance between races, with particular reference to Indians. In view of the fact thet there will be some displacement of Indians, especially alous the Lissouri river where & dam is beinr constrvcted in this state, it may pe / entirely patriotic in its aimse T enclose a copy of a letter addressed to the ‘ry 0r which would indicate that the American Friends nave the recomition of the Derartment of Interior, Buresu of Indian Affairs. The american Fricnds Service vormittes give their address as €14 Clark Street, Rapid City, Seuth This letter is to insuire if you: have ¢ any knowled~s of this sroup end if they are entitled to recernition.
