The People's Blockade Committee is attempting to
prevent the free flow of war materiel from points within the
United States for export to our forces overseas. - Neidlinger —
has attempted to have postal authorities prevertt the captioned
organization from mailing its material to him. Receiving no
cooperation he referred the matter to the Attorney General
claiming harassment by use of the mail. Assistant Attorney
General A. William Olson of the Internal Security Division:
advised on 10/25/72 this matter was originally referred to
the FBI for information only, without a request for
investigation. Upon review of the Department's letter to
Neidlinger Mr. Olson noted it could be construed by the
recipient that the FBI was going to actively” investigate the
matter. He suggested the above contact with Neidlinger to put
this situation in proper perspective and to preclude further -
correspondence. .
