In this civil war thousands of Vietnamese are being killed and tortured, their villages, fields and homes burned, They have iived under a series of repressive, corrup? governments which have never been elected and are main- tained only by American power, 4S the war goes on, the Vict Cong continues t ccomes We Bie icss popular. Can the cause of freedom be advanced by stopping the war in Vietnam ? If we were to withdraw our support, the war would be over in wecks, We could bring the matter to the United Nations, We could call for a reconvening of the l4~-nation Geneva Conference, --It is possible that all of Vietnam could be neutralized-- -~-It is possible that elections could be held under a UN presence that would bring a representative government+-- --It is possible that using.cven part of the funds we are now spending on the war we could assist in projects that would help eliminate poverty, disease and hunger in Victnam and other countries of Southeast “sia-- This is the fcbric of frcedom--this is the chance worth taking!
