Coumicsicn in ‘Iate 1960. A School Committee consisting of eight CP members of the . Bducational Commission was formed to conduct the day-to- day activities of the school, At that time, DAVE ENGLESTEIN, Education Director, CP o? iilirois, had over-all responsibilti- in forming policy of the operation of the school. f During the summer of 1951, the Educational Commissi« and School Committees of ths CP of Illinois were dissolved as : result of the Supreme Court decision on tha Internal Security Act of 195G. Since that time, LOU DISKIN, member, CP of © Tllinois, and leadership representative of the West Side &resa, CP of Yliiancis,-aond DAYE ENGLESTEIN have been prizerily responsible for the operation oy tke CSSS. The aims of the school to izstruct Communists in Marxism-Leninism and to provide a basis oY contemporary subjects which would attract non-Communists have not changed, and classes are stiil being taught by members of the CP of Illinois. .
