The wooden block could be used as a chuck on an
electric drill.
The flashlight demonstrates the ingenuity of the .
prisoners in utilizing available material to accomplish
their purpose. The housing for the two penlight batteries
(one battery is a spare) is a small rectangular plastic box
which has a hole in one end through which the bulb is
screwed so that the base of, the bulb contacts the center
post of the battery. A fastener, similar to an Acco type
file fastener, is employed as the means of carrying the
electricity from the battery base to the side of the bulb
and it also acts as the switch. There is no lens or other
protection for the bulb.
No pertinent information was developed from
examining the electric motor, Q12, the steel scraping or
digging tool, Q14, the electric cords of Q16 and Qi7 and
the two pieces of steel in Q16.
Specimen Q15 consists of three tablespoon handles,
a homemade steel tool with a paper tape handle and some
black fabric tape stored around part of a small Singer
Sewing Machine book containing some writing. No significant
information was developed concerning the tablespoon handles or
the small tool.
No bléod was identified on specimens Q4 and Q5.
