All relatives of subjects contacted as set forth iA
this report, advised that they had no knowledge that subjects
were planning an escape from Alcatraz and had no knowledge
concerning the actusl escape or attempted escape and their
knowledge was limited to the information they obtained from
newspapers and television.
The ANGLIN brothers' immediate family all expressed
the hope that they will be found alive and well, but if alive,
they prefer their immediate apprehension by the FBI before the
ANGLIN brothers commit serious crimes er are killed in their
efforts to avoid apprehension. The family advises that CLARENCE
and JOHN WILLIAM ANGLIN were closer to their brother, ALFRED RAY
ANGLIN, who is now serving a sentence at the U. 8S. prison at
Atlanta, Georgia than with any other member of the family. It
was noted during this investigation that the majority of the
menbers of the ANGLIN family work ag fruit pickers and they
often travel to other parts” of the United States to pick fruit
during the harvest seasons.
Relatives contacted were furnished with the telephone
number of the FBI Office at Tampa, Florida. All appeared co-
operative and all expressed their desire to cooperate with the
FBI and advised they would notify the Tampa Division immediately
if they receive any information of any nature concerning the
escapees.
All relatives contacted were advised of the provisions
of the Federal Harboring Statute.
All acquaintances and employers contacted, as set
forth in this report, expressed their willingness to cooperate
with the FBI in the apprehension of fugitive subjects, should
it be hey survived their escape from Alcatraz, Lb L
except as set forth in the report of his )
interview.
All acquaintances and employers contacted were ad-
vised of the provisions of the Federal Harboring Statute.
