Dear Mr. Hoover:
I fully realize the Burean has gotten all sorts of ideas and tips
following the recent break at Alcatraz so I am somewhat reluctant to
add more fuel to the stack, however I wanted to throw in an angle for
what it might be worth.

It appears that the escape route at Alcatraz had been well cased
and it must be assumed the three prisoners had rehearsed crawling

mined how much time was required to reach the selected location where

This man would then be in position to furnish the complete outline
with first hand information to outside assistance. The matter of the
exact date and time might work two ways, either firmly established at
' the time of his discharge or code language in a lettgr subsequently _
