mr The "Counterattack" sent ovt a Special Supplement with its
March 18, 1949, issue. This Supplement carried a discussion on the
World Congress of Intellectuals held in Wroclaw, Polend in Arcust,
1948. The U.S. section of this congress was to be held March 25-27,
1949, in New York City. It was disguised as a "Culturel and Scientific
Conference for World Peace", under auspices of the National Council
of Arts, Sciences end Professions, The Supplement also csrried e
"Condensed Who's ¥Fho of some of the lc ading Commniats whe are to speak
in the congress or are sponsoring it «+.» plus a few other well-knowm
Sponsors who aren't CP members (at least not openly) lat have supported
Communist fronts."
