Professor Albert Einstein was reported to be one of the 400 sponsore of the conference. Dr. Herlow Shapley, chairman of the National Council of the Arts, Sciences and Professions, reported that the conference had been called to see if the artists and sejentists of tha world could find some way to "live end let livet in the ‘modern world. 100-356137-A (41) °
