A review of the New York Field Division files dis-
closed that the Emergency Committee of Atomic Scientists
was located at 625 Madison Avenue, New York City. It was com-
prised of a group of scientists who were interested in atomic
energy and was headed by Albert Einstein and some prominent
American physicists. Some Communist sympathizers were asscciated
with the organization which was not, however, under the control
or influence of pro-Communist or pro~Russian elements.
