Einstein was also affiliated with approximately 50 organizations which had not been cited by any of the above groups. ae Reports received from G-< contained information from Aco] a scuree doscribed as “usually reliable - possibly trve"™ which “7 reflected that prior to 1933, Einstein's Berlin office was used us a cable address by the Soviets and that AIS personal secretary assisted the Soviets in their use of the office. Lor Angeles letter to the Tirector dated April 1?. 19+9 advised that it had been reperted to the Los Angeles office that Albert Einstein, Jr., son of Professor Einst in, was af that time in the Soviet Union and that Mrs. Finstein was afraid ber son might be held as a hostage to force sore particular eetion on the part of Frofessor Finstein. A preliminary ‘nvestigstion, epened on May 17, 19+9 revealed that Mrs. Finstein died in about 1938 and there was no inidi- eation that Professor Finstein had remarried. ~Investigaticn T reflected further that Albert Einstein, Jr. had traveled | extensively in foreign countries other than Russia since 10:2 ynd his present whereshovts has not been determined, The investipation is pending.
