P). *—A!l Capone, Chicago heer haron, , Dow serving an eleven-year sen- jtence in Alcatraz Penitentiary for income tax evasion, was assessed j almost $120,000 today for liquor taxes not paid. The assessment, ordered by the "Treasury, also was levied against other members of the Chicago syn- dicate with which Capone was con- nected during the prohibition era. _ Capone is charged with the il- legal manufacture, distribution and sale of some 20,000 barrela of beer. | The Treasury wiil take steps im-i ‘mediately to collect the assesament in a elvil court proceeding.
