At the Cook County Jail, Mr. H, c. Preuffer ,enset Clerk, was
interviewed by Special Agent H. z. Hollis with reference to the dis- th.
bursements made by Alphonse Capone since his Incarceration in the ° ve %,
Cook County Jail. In the presence of Agent Hollis Mr, Preuffer —.; t

October 26, 1931, Mr. Capone deposited with the Chief Clerk the anount Be
of $500. On November 4, 1931, on order of Capone, $100 was delivered |
br the Chief Clerk to 4 Mrs. -Kaviceki, and under date of Wovember 24, - emeuest
1921, $100 wes given to Ir. Janes abries by the Chief Clerk. Under
date of Decenber 8, 1€31, the amount of G20 was disbursed to Mr, J.
Russell, so thet at the present time there is a balance of 5100 in the
account of Alphonse Caponé. The purposes for which these disbursements. #::

Hollis th t the method in providing passes is as follows: The Assistant
Superintendent of the institution calls on each prisoner daily and
re vests him to furnish the names of persons who will visit the prisoner
during the following day. This list is then sent to the Superintendent's ~
office and the passes made out by a minor administrative official. ;
When the visitors call at the Cook County Jail, it is determined whether -.
