Maree of this Office interviered eclal Ent le ed hms VU CAPONE, alone, at Terminal Island for « period of one hour, late in the afternoon, October 25, 1939. CAPONE was approached on two angles during thie interrogation. One approach concerned the early history of the Chicago Motion Picture Operators Union, - particularily TOMTE*MALLOY (deceased), GEORGE E, Sn -~~BIOFF, with aliases, JOHN (BIG NICK)*NICK, and WICK (NICKELODEON) . /. [4 _»SIRCELLA, who were also connected with the“Wotion Picture Operators f Union years ago. The second approach wa concerning his knowledge of the escape of RALPHROE and THEODORE COLE from Alcatraz, ‘ AL CAPONE seemed in high spirits during the course of \ the interview, and stated he knew NICK (N (NICKELODEON) CIRCELLA ; thet he remembered GEORGE E. BROWN, but co not a BIOFF, with aliases. He suggested that his brother RALPH APONE would be more in a position te. furnish information on these individuals, and stated that TOME MALLOY hed been one of his men, but MALLOY got out of line and subsequently was killed in an automobile accident, giving dgent a cone wink of kis_ left eye while making this statement. this statement - BILAE-1f CAPONE then brought out the e: oR a history of FRANKIE ofRIO, and explained how he, CAPONE, had left Mew York for Chicago. He digressed into statements concerning TORRIO; how he had censored - TORRIO for being interested in the prostitution racket in Chicago. He stated that he, CAPONE, had made $10,000,000.00 during the . Sg prohibition days in Chicago, but etated he had never been intergsigt ta in any vige racket.
