Irrgang, 169 South Water Market, Chicago, ‘ Tllincic, strted thet in le Joe arrera, a notorious gangster of Chicago, w . Illinois, representing th @llo-Moran Gmg, conducted a "racket" in whi tribute was collected on all fulce grapes sold on the Chicago and Northwestern *fuice grape track" at Clinton Street, Chicago, Illinois. The tribute varied = and was paid by the buyera to the racketeers. The first week of October 1929, Joe Ferrera stopped the auctiming of cars at the Chicago ani Northvestern | ; Reilroad track and insisted timt all juice grapes auctioned be sold at the Chicago Produce Tarminal track, 27th & Ashland Ayeme, Chicago, Illincis. dq The United States Fruit auction Canpany agreed with Forrera to pay §20.0 a. ear fran the auction's funds on ail cars auctioned at the Chicago ani Naor th- . western “juice grape track" and the racketeers agreed not to interfere with. the auctioning of juice grapes at the other three distributing points in Chicago, Illinois, where grepes are unloaded on the railroads, The United States Fruit Auction Company paid $1300 to Joe Ferrera by check at the end of the seas of 1929 for the cars of juice grapes auctioned at the Chicago and Northwestern track at $20 a sar.
