You deliberately created a trap that appealed to some of the most basic of human desires, and in so doing caught and politically ruined individuals who may never, until that moment, have committed any crime. What you people did scares the hell out of me in that it points out so clearly your total lack of any sense of right or wrong. The whole scheme, from conception to execution, smacks of college hijinks with about the same ' level of maturity behind it. This is not how I want to see : my tax money spent. I want a strong F.B.I., one that is capable of functioning effectively against crime--real crime. My fear is that the Abscam sort of thing will cause a backlash that could result in excessive legislation that could hamstring F.B.I. operations in the future.
