SULLIVAN #8777 On October 28, 1963, the Attorney General callec at my olfice and discussed a number of roatters. The first matter discussed was the Bobby Baker case and its various ramifications. Llinformod tha Attorney General that we were daily receiving meworanda from the Criminal Division of the Deoartment asking for additional investigations and we had givea this particular matter top priority. I stated thore was no doudt that uber had beon ascociating with most undesirable characters here ia * ashington and other parts of the country. I stated that of course the Uureay was looiing into two specific aspects af the case; namely, the conllict of intcrest and any fraud which be may have perpetrated in-disburssi.cil of funds at the Capitol. We then discussed the Llicn *‘onetsch case. I outlined to the Attorney General the detalls of this situation and the ramifications of i. I told him about the conversation that I had had with the Presicent on the prececing Sunday by phone in which the President expresscd concern about the possible involvement of porwonnel at the White Eouse. I etated that we had immediately interviewed the Rometsch woman, who ts now living in Cologne, Germany, and had otXained a written statement from her stating that she had had no relations with anyone on the White House stafi. Il advised the Attorney General that she had ceclined to give the names of any of her cHents.
