Ala. Doe He presently resides at Aiken, South Carolina, Post Office Box 299, and has telephone number MI 9-4747. His agent presently has him working on an article for the Saturday Evening Post entitled, "The Search for the Birmingham Bombers." He hag been in Birmingham for two days and in the course of two days. of inquiry had talked to several individuals. McMILLAN said he spoke to Sheriff MEL BAILEY, of Jefferson County, for about half a day, and that BAILEY "said a lot,” including comments concerning his opinion of the Alabama Highway Patrol, and then at the end of the conversation BAILEY asked him not to print it. He also spent one-half day with Lieutenant MAURICE HOUSE and Detective MARCUS JONES, of the Birmingham Police Department, who took him on a haif-day tour of various areas of interest and gave him general information, including some form of a colorful "kiss of death" deal, but did not provide him with any specifics. He also spoke to the Negro minister of the 16th Street Baptist Church, who indicated he had given the FBI a list of members of his congregation and that a large number of Negroes had been interviewed.
