The Emergency Nationwide Moratorium, a coalition of antiwar
' leaders and groups, backed by more than 20 Senators and Congress-
. men, Znnounced plans for a nationwide moratorium o n the above date.
Coalition l e a d e r s called on wsc'foes to gather during the noon
hour to conduct rallies, silent vigils, prayer meetings and othcr
"peacefu'l and legal expressions" of antiwar scntiment.
Revenue Service offices, military recruitment and induction centers,
congressional home offices, and m a j o r w a r contractor facilities w e r e
suggested as possible target areas.

The moratorium groups released a l i s t of s o m e 60 sponsors
including lawmakers ,. civil tights and church l e a d e r s , intellectuals,
and o t h e r prominent antiwar figures.

Among names on the sponsorship l i s t w e r e the R e v . Daniel
Berrigan and Sister Elizabeth McAlister of ' % a i r i s b u r g Seven" fame;
the Rev. Ralph D. Abcrnathy of the Southern Christian Leadership
Conference; Dr. Benjamin Spork, the noted pediatrician and peace
activist; George Wilcy, militant black executive dircctor of the
National Welfare Rights Organization; and antiwar activists J a n e
Fonda and Dick Gregory.

The Young Workers Liberation League (youth group of the
CPUSA) has scheduled a national convention on the above dates.
As
prcviously reported, the original date of April 28-May 1 has been
postponed because the national chairman of the YWLL, J a r v i s Tyner
reportedly will be visiting in Hanoi a t that time.
