PRESIDENT AMIN
The Prime Minister has seej^xhe Foreign and
Commonwealth Secretary's minute (PM 77/84) of
24 August about the action which should be taken if
President Amin does, in the event, seek to attend
the United Nations General Assembly in New York and
to pass through Heathrow in transit.
The Prime Minister agrees with Dr. Owen's
recommendations both on the action which should be
taken in this event and with regard to our public
position.
I am sending copies of this letter to
Bob Morris (Home Office), Martyn Baker (Department
of Trade) and to Martin Vile (Cabinet Office).
