Additional paper chromatographic tests will be employed to determine whether or not the glyco portion of* the glycoside is glucose or whether some other sugar is present . ^ Attempts will be made to isolate sufficiently large quantities of the aglycone in crystalline form so that in addition to the chemical tests , physiological tests may be carried out on it and the results compared with those 'obtained on the glycoside. Qualitative and quantitative f^nctiohaizgroup: determinations will be made on the aglycone_if=it can be obtained in. pure form.
