BURLINSON: caefh While in Moscow, NY 694-S* contacted the Chinese J Consulate there on June 29 and July-10, 1961. On June 29, the informant requested the Chinese Consul to make inquiry of the Chinese CP in Peiping regarding several matters, and to furnish him with the answers thereto at a later date. He requested that the Chinese CP furnish its opinion regarding the authenticity of the letter received by GUS HALL, mentioned above. He dso requested that the Chinese CP advise how the CPUSA and the CP of China should maintain contact. He : further requested that the Chinese CP advise whether or not it was receiving material being sent to it by the CPUSA.
